Yuki was brought home with us in early Aug-2009 when she's just 6 weeks old.

In that glass cage full of small little hamsters, she stood out as the most active little one, and instantly we knew she's the one we wanted.

I remember fondly when I bring her to my nose and she will push me away with her little hands... and also that day when she dips one leg into our birthday cake and got chocolate all over her!

I also remember how she likes to burrow herself in her bedding, or sleep belly-up in that yellow tube leading up to her mezzanine hideout.

Meow meow likes to hold Yuki up in 2 fingers and shake her around. Interestingly, I think Yuki enjoyed it!!

The very first time we went on holidays, we still thought, how can Yuki survive?? We left her with a bundle of nuts and grains, and a full water bottle... and boy is she a survivor!! Our longest trip away was when we went to USA in Oct/Nov-2010. During that 3 weeks, Yuki was home alone and she took real good care of herself.

Yuki is really fun to play with. She loves her cage so much that even if we leave the cage door open, she will just stand out to take a peek, go around the cage and circles it a few times, then she will climb back in again.

Meow meow can relate one night when Yuki climbed up from the top of the cage when we left it open, and the whole night Yuki was just trying frantically to get back in.

Just few days ago, we bought a new ball for her to play, and also a big new pack of food and bedding.... from a pet shop in JB! I still commented that it's gonna last more than her lifetime!! :(

On 28.03.2011 (Mon), meow meow notices that Yuki's right leg looks swollen. I thought she might have hurt herself while climbing up the sides of the cage. Taking no notice, we thought maybe she will just recover on her own.

On 30.03.2011 (Wed), I did some Google search and numerous sources suggests that maybe Yuki might be suffering from indigestion and constipation, and hence causes her adomen to be swollen.

That night, we feed Yuki some small pieces of carrots and banana, hoping that it will help her ease her condition. I was still thinking that if things don't look good, we should bring her to the vet the next day.

On 31.03.2011 (Thu), I went to Yuki's cage to see how she's doing...

Sadly, I found her motionless inside her favourite dino egg. My heart really drops when I saw her lying there and not answering when I call her name.

Yuki has brought much laughters to our house and bore witness to the many celebrations, dinners and home parties.

In her short Hammy life as a member of our family, she will always be remembered dearly as our Yuki.

Adventures in Angkor Wat - Part 2

Well... Meow Meow always say I write story only got Part 1 but too lazy to include Part 2... :)

So here comes Part 2 of our trip in Siem Reap...

You see... The sun is so small... Meow Meow is poking the sun... Hahahaa...

Now my turn... I will eat the sun... Hahahaa.... Okay jokes aside, this is the sun set on top of some Wat mountain... Can't remember the name, but every tuk-tuk will insist you go there and see sun set... Some folks we see trying to climb up the "Bukit Timah" gave up half way... And somehow we can hear them commenting "Aiyah, it's actually nicer to see the sun set through the branches..." Hahaa... LOL

Now back to Angkor Wat.. This time round, we have our tripod ready... I love the Canon multi-shots function... Hahaha...

Tip 2: If cold beer you don't like, try hiding in a air-conditioned ATM counter... Hehee... It sure works fine for Meow Meow... :)

Adventures in Angkor Wat - Part 1

Arriving in style.... This is Cambodia's very own style of Tuk-Tuk.... Very interesting, they simply build a carriage and hook it onto a normal scooter!! Well, it could be hooked up to maybe a horse too.... Hahahaa....

Anyway, this seems to be the mode of transport we get accustomed to.... A short 5-10min trip costs us US$0.50. We booked the Tuk-Tuk for 2 days to bring us around the Angkor Wat park for US$28. Highly recommended as an authentic way to explore Siem Reap, unless you prefer the "greener way" and paddle yourself around... :)

We woke up at 4.30am to get ready for the early morning ride into Angkor Wat to catch the sunrise!! Well, we din really catch anything fantastic....

To get to where we are, the Tuk-Tuk stopped us like in the middle of nowhere, and we just followed the crowd of people holding torchlights and finding their way around.

Angkor Wat is just one of the many many temples and tombs and "castles" in the park. We really wonder why there are so many of these old old structures around. But it's really a nice background for taking photos.... and we took thousands.. Hehee....

This is me trying to "catch" the sun... See, it's really setting into my hand!! Hahaa...

meow meow is missing kobi from italy, spain, and now washington...gonna be away for 11 days....including national day...

this is the longest business trip that meow meow is gg away for...and meow meow is missing her dear dear every minute...

no one to share meow meow food, no one to give opinion which handbag meow meow should buy...no one to drink coffee with... no one to latch on when meow meow is tired...no one to joke with meow meow... :(

due to the time difference, when meow meow is back hotel, most of the time, its already nite time for dear dear...and there is so little time to catch up...

cant wait to go back to singapore to hug my dear dear...

Finally Meow meow can swim last week. and yday, Kobi brought meow meow to test out the 50m size pool! and Meow meow manage 8 laps! YEAH!!!!

We got our new baby DSLR Nikon D5000

Our shopping experience for an DSLR was horrible. We went to Sim Lim Square twice. First, we went there after our wedding on 8 June. Asking around for prices. So after we got the prices, the D90 and D5000 for the same accessories is only $60 difference. And after so many review that the D90 is a much better camera than a D5000, we decided to get a D90.

So we went back to the Sim Lim Shop again, asking for D90, and this time, the price difference is $400 to $500. hmm....so we are a little upset. But still, ok, since we decided to get the D90, we went to few shops to scout for a reasonable price. The first shop, we decide to buy from, quote us $1530(+gst) for the D90 with 15-105mm VR lens, and $10 for the filters. So we say ok, lets get that, and when we want to pay, he keep pushing us the other lens, saying that we reali like it, we should buy, he will give his best price for it, and we say we dun need it. then he say ok. Lets pay and we need to pay cash. Where got ppl walk around with $2000 cash one?? and then he say the filter is now $20 cos the D90 lens size is difference. ARGH!!! Why so dishonest one?? So we just walk off and went to back to the shop which quoted us previously and ask for the price of $1550(+gst) and then now, he quoted $48 for the filter. Pengz. So we decided to just buy the body + lens without the filter. Then you know what? He try to push his other lens again! and when we dun wan it. He say, Oops! I tink we hv no more stock for D90, and the plc he draws his stocks from is closed. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!! Where got like tat one????

So we decided to give it a miss and left Sim Lim Square with a very frustrated feeling...How can such things happen in Singapore?? Why???

So we decided to skip Sim Lim Square and go to Courts and Harvey Norman yday. but its OOS. OMG!!! So many ppl is buying DSLR??

So anyway, we decided to try again at Funan centre today. and guess what?? We bot our first DSLR!!! but we did not get a D90. hehhee...They still have stock. But we last minute decide to buy a cheaper body and invest the rest into the lens and flash light, etc.

So in the end we got a D5000 + 18-55mm + 55-200mm + Flash Light + 3x8GB SD card + Lowepro Nikon Bag + LCD screen protector. Total Damages is $1888, and we are happie!

hehehe...

La la la la la la...we gonna read the manual and start playing with after we have fully charge the battery!!!

The day that we are preparing for finally came... It has been some busy days leading up to it...

Making our own posters, doing our own montage... Hee... Maybe I can explore being a multimedia specialist? Hahaa... Think I'm not exactly gifted in that, so I better stay in being a down-to-earth engineer.

Well I really have deviated from my main topic... Hahaha...

We wish to thank all of you friends and well-wishers for making the day such an enjoyable one for us.

We wish to express our greatest appreciation for our brothers and sisters who helped out with the coordination, hosting the show as emcee, singing, dancing, running up and down to test the audio/video, sending flowers to our parents, preparing guests for the photo-taking... It's a long list... :)

It's a fun journey for us preparing for all this... The journey ahead will be more fun and adventures. Stay tune to our blog... :)

looking for a place to take photos on actual day is not easy.

The place must be scenic, must be near to the road(easy to work there with the heavy gown), but cannot be too crowded, cannot be dirty(else will dirty the gown), cannot be too hot, cannot be too wet...(OMG! got such a plc?)

whr got find near to the road, but not many ppl? where got not many ppl, but its clean clean one? not easy to find man...

we have shortlisted a few places, but have yet to go and take a look.

OMG, this JB makeover package was booked so so so long ago...in 2007...ehehe..

it was one fine day, where a gang of salsa gals and boys went to JB for a shopping n makan trip...and we 5 gals signed up for the package together =) and we got a good deal ;)

Mini-Honeymoon in Taipei and Kaoshiung

Straight after our ROM, we flew off the next day to Taipei!

This is our first dinner in Taipei...in a small restaurant called "Lau Ma de chou chou guo(smelly wok)... in Shilin night market. Tell you what, you can forget about all the other night markets in Taipei....no other night market can come close to this. They have good shopping and good makan places...

This wok is only NT$100 each ~ S$ 4.50!!!! Where to find in Singapore??

Look at this!!! This is the "Hou ta ta ji pai" - Their Chicken Chop is so super big and juicy!!! Its 2x the size of Singapore "Shilin Xiang Ji Pai"!!! NO FIGHT MAN!!!!

This one is a chain store in Taiwan...named "Hu Zi Zhang". They are famous for their "Lu Rou Fan"(fatty minced pork rice)!! Its Yummy!!! Their serving is so small!!! You can eat like 20 bowls at one time!!! hehehe....

Look at this super Long Sausage!!!! I purposely stand there for Kobi to take photo to compare how big the sausages are!!! But we din eat lah....Its too big, and if we eat somemore, you probably wun be able to recognise us when we come back...hehehe...

This is another famous "Ah Zhong Mee Sua"...Everyday, you will see super long queue, and ppl will buy liao and eat at the roadside....so we join in the fun too!!! Yum Yum!!!

We make a trip to this place called "Jiu Fen". Its a historical street, abit similar to Malacca...You can have famous Yam balls there...."btw, everything in Taipei oso famous, and got queue, they all eat and eat and eat...yet the ladies there, all slim slim one....maybe i shld eat more too.... hehehhee"
You can have very nice view from the tea houses....so do pop in there to enjoy ur tea and scenery at the same time =)

Its WINTER TIME!!!!

We did our "Hot Spring" in this hotel!!! Finally Meow meow is there at the right weather =)

You can have your own Hot Spring Tub with a nice bedroom attached. You can even choose between a tatami or western bed style bedroom too! "actually room not so important...cos only book for 2 hours, cannot sleep oso, right?" hehehe...

But of cos if you choose to stay there overnight, then I guess the choices are probably good.

Come, lets go to Kaoshiung!!! Even in the train, we still cannot miss the food!!! We have Bian Dan served by a pretty gal. hehehhe...No wonder ppl always says you must try their Bian Dan...hmm....I wonder why...

This is their "Mei Li Dao" Train Station! Amazing,right? Its like a museum station...

This is the best place in Kaoshiung!! Probably the only place..hehhee.

This is called "Sze Zi Bay" where we read somewhere that you can take nice Sunset photos! So we rush all the way there....tell you what, we only have 15 mins before the sun fully sets, so we just snap snap snap!!!Just when we walk out of the Sse Zi Bay, we saw many people climbing up a staircase...then we realise tat it is the " ta dou ling shi guan" where they have fantastic night view =)

many people ask : why dun u have your ROM together with Customary?

Our question is simple : ROM is something we wanted, and we want to enjoy the celebration and invite only a few frens and close kins to witness our important day.

Customary wedding is something that the parents wanted, and of cos, due to them, we will have this busy and memorable day to remember :)

We wanted our ROM is be simple and natural, the criteria is simple, witness in a garden(natural and relax), and have lunch in an aircon restaurant(so that my dear dear wun be melting. hehe...), and of cos the place must have contigency plan if it rains, as its Dec rainy season. ROM Cert Collection

We collected our ROM Cert on 3 Dec 08, just 4 days before our ROM. At the ROM Centre, before you can take a cert, you have say some super long Vow....something like you came on free will and everything you say is true...blar blar....

Since we are not having our ROM at the ROM centre, we decided that since we are there, we shall take some pictures....hee...the places are so familiar...been there a few times for my frens' ROM...finally, its MY TURN!! WAAHHAHAHAH ****shy***

Our Vietnam trip is full of shopping, good food, and adventure =)

Makaning

Lets see the most important good food!

When you walk round Ben Thanh market, you will see people queueing for this...it is something like "vietnamese abacus". Its worth a try, something special.

We walked around the market again, and we saw someone eating this...so we tot we shld give it a try. It is something like our "lao su fen in assam laksa". This is reali nice, a MUST TRY. The Chendol is a must try too! Dun be horrified by its appearance, cos the stalls will have many glasses of chendol, all in different colours...looks abit...disgusting actually....but but....its yummy. hehehe...

This is our breakfast at Redsun hotel at Pham Ngu Lao. We have a choice of Baguette or Pho. Got banana too! Both are yummy.*finger licking good*better than international breakfast buffet!

Kobi is amazed by the dripping vietnamese coffee...try it at their local coffee shop for an authenic taste and experience (they will all sit to face the road). If possible, avoid highlands coffee...more pricey and not nice at all. Their coffee taste like cough syrup*choked*

We are looking for a seafood restauant, recommended by the lonely planet...but I guess its closed,or address is wrong, cos we walk 200 rounds and still cannot find it!! So we settle for this Indian restaurant, and surprisingly, the food is good too!

This is a Jap restaurant that Kobi brought me. They serve good food at reasonable prices, and their portions are huge!

We did make any reservations, and they are actuali full when we were there. Somehow, one couple agreed to change to a 2 seater table instead of 4, so we manage to squeeze into the restaurant for a meal. Their food is good, but a little pricey.

Opps! where is meow meow's portion? Heehee..
Meow meow order goose liver salad and its yummy!

This is the Lemongrass recommended in the Lonely Planet. I would suggest to miss this. Their food is only so-so. We order a fish, and its coated with salt. So scaryly salty!!

and not forgetting the typical pho at Pho 24. Another typical chain is Pho 2000.

This is the chinatown. Tink it is a wholesale market, everyone sells in dozens. See how these guys carry the goods, its so amazing....

Our biggest adventure

This is our biggest adventure in hcmc. we spend like 6 to 7 hours here...went back 4 times!

The Tailor shop, I tailor 3 dresses and 1 skirt...and they looked....weird....alter, alter and alter...till the cloth got "much much"(uncountable) holes...but still, it a good experience! hahaha! In the end, I only got 2 dresses and a skirt back, cos the other dress is a total cmi cmi :p

Not bad hor, I still can pose! hehehe...

OMG, jus by saying all these, I miss hcmc again...when can i go back for more?

Malacca 2008

My colleagues and i have been talking about malacca trip for months, and finally it came true! and I tell u wat...its worth waiting for :)

U will not believe the amount of food we had in a 2D1N trip. We had yong tau fu, baba laska, assam laksa, seafood dinner, oyster mee sua breakfast and peranakan lunch, and of cos, the best cendol i ever had! and as usual, for food, not much photos lah, mouth too fast, hands too slow..Hahahhaha...

OMG!!! I need to look slim for my ROM!!! But how can resist so much good food? ARGH!!!!!!!

We've been busy as usual..
our weekends are packed with things to do, but we are enjoying every moment of it

Our coming ROM
tats probably the least to do...just need to find a simple dress and suit...manage to reserve a dress at Digio...gg there end of this month to see if there is any better one...hehehe.. Kobi will then find his suit after I got my dress confirmed.

Just started reno this monday. It will take 8 to 10 weeks to complete...*hopefully* cos my gf place took 6 months to complete...*pray*

Today is the 3rd day of reno liao....think they should have hacked away everything liao...hehehhe....

Little Honeymoon after our ROM
We are gg to Taiwan for our little honeymoon after ROM. I was there 2 years ago during summer, and I try gg to HOT spring...think Imust be crazy. hehehe...almost got cooked. hehehe...

So this time round, Kobi says he is gg to bring to a proper hot spring in Taiwan during winter...hehehhe....

Tiger Air got OFFER!!! Most tickets gg fr $0.01/way!!! No joke!! We got our return tickets at $300++(include tax++) for 2 pax!! hehehehe...Hope we can get some nice furnishings in HCMC. hehhehee....HORRAY!!!!

initially when we sign up for the bay run, we are like....aiya...jus 10km only mah....shld be ok lah...but over the months, our exercise regime seems to shrink due to our wedding plans, finding IDs for our new home....and of cos, our laziness...hehehehe...

then meow meow start to tink...jialat, 10km can finis one anot huh??...hmm....

then on 23 Aug, our classmates jio for dinner and drinking...alamak! why out of all days, choose the nite before we gg for our Bay run???*pengz*

meow meow was contemplating whether to go or not to go...kobi is like, cannot go lah, u go liao, wun wan to come back early one... :(

so we stayed at home...and rest...and rest....but we chat, watched tv till 1am...OMG, and then kobi went back at 1am+..and we got to get up at 6am to reach pandan field at 7am....

but u knoe wat? meow meow cannot sleep lei...duno if its cos too excited and mind too active...thinking abt renovating the house...how to make more room for wardrobes yet not make the place look too cluttered...how to make it more cosy yet spacious...then end up, meow meow cannot stop thinking, so went to read a book...finished 2 chapters...and meow meow is still wide awake!!! and its already 4am!!! can someone please knocked meow meow concuss??? *argh*

so meow meow finally fall asleep at 5am, and woke up at 6am...to get ready for the run! surprisingly, meow meow is still fresh! hehehehe....

kobi is unemployed for a few weeks...while waiting to start his new job, so we decided to squeeze some time to go kl...before kobi starts his new job =)

we took a transtar coach up, got massage chair n our own tv =) we got to choose wat movies we wan to watch, jus like take SQ =)

Took real long to wait for this Commencement Day... Meow Meow finished her MBA program in July'07 while I finished mine in Nov'07 (Ya ya, I am slow)

So while getting busy busy over preparing for our wedding, we still got time to put on our "PAP" gown... Hahaha... The gowns are a bit "Harry Potter"... But somehow, everyone feels so proud parading around on that day

Latin dance!!!

Our first Latin class :)

We are gg for our first Latin Dance Class. Latin Dance is quite different from salsa. Salsa is a very social dance, everyone, every school dance in a slightly different way. As long as u can lead the gal and dance with a groove, tats salsa :)

Our first lesson started off with cha cha. Although for the first lesson, we only do basic steps and how to do our weight shift, its not easy...and we can see ourselves improving after the lesson! Tat is so exciting!!!

We will look like Pros, in no time.....Hahahaha

Location: Caversham Wildlife Park (Swan Valley) / 24 May 2008

This is a wildlife park located in Swan Valley... another wine region near Perth...

We see lotsa and lotsa kangaroos! My dear dear is absolutely fascinated!! =)

Look at the pic here... Does meow meow look excited?? (on the contrary, the kangaroo does look a bit bo chap... Hahaha)

Okay okay... We saw birds (all sorts), we saw funny funny animals too... Heh... I should really show you this one...

Coming to Australia, we definitely absolutely confirm gaurantee + chop must see the Koalas!!

Kobi and family cannot make up their mind where to go....Jumbo? No signboard? where they always go? or Canto wok? but never try before...hm...tink tink tink tink...

After a family internal meeting with his papa and sis, they tink since its mama's day...better choose a safe(tested and proven) choice....later she complain....so decided to go"No signboard"

We had chilli crab, kang gong, champagne chicken, cereal tofu, all must try and yummy yummy :)

It was a nice dinner...very crowded, but the food is still nice and got a entertaining captain to tell jokes...hehehe...so its quite fun :)

Meow meow's Mama's Day

When kobi told me tat they chose No signboard, I am like "huh??" cos i was thinking of bringing my family to No Signboard @ Geylang this year...

I brought them to try the No signboard @ Pasir Panjang 3 years back...the food was horrible *vomit* and after that, we wrote off No signboard...and last year, My good fren, Edwin insist to go No signboard at geylang for crab...so no choice, i went...and to my surprise, the food is fantastic...

but just went with kobi family a few days ago....eat the same thing all over again huh? So i went to check out Long beach @ Demspey, but got no more tables in the aircon place...my mama is not reali a alfresco person :S

then while i was thinking of other places... No signboard is hanging in my mind...as in when then I can bring them there huh??

So i decide...its mama's day... its for my family to enjoy the dinner...so if the food at No signboard is good, we shall go there =) Decision is clear.

Now, we have my uncles, my mama, myself and kobi :) 5 just fit nicely into a car.

then, the nite before, my mama saw me at the carpark...with her fren...and she ask me, I can bring my fren along hor? I m like "huh"?? Cmi lei, she ask me in front of her fren, wat can i say?? :/

So now, we got to spilt into 2 cars...kobi gonna drive my uncles...i will drive my mama and her fren...*meow meow duno the way* :/

I drive slower, so kobi got to stopped at the roadside to wait for me...then my uncle ask him...why u stop here? kobi says, waiting for yinhong aka meow meow....

Joke of the night : my uncles reply, no need lah, I brought yin hong there when she was "small"(like 5 years old), she knoes the place :)
i tink kobi almost fainted....i was there last week loh, and i oso duno how to go, dun say when i was 5???? *pengz*

anyway, we manage to reach there safely :) and got a nice table

We had one big crab(half white pepper, half chilli), kang kong, drunken prawns, chicken wings, some special tofu...all was nice, except the drunken prawns... i expected the prawns to be bigger and more juicy...but they are just so so...

Overall, it was a nice dinner too :)

Turtle Soup at Guillemard Road

Originally, we wanted to go for Turtle soup at Jalan Besar, but we drove round and round and round, and still we cannot find the place...why huh? cos...my uncle only tell me...its in jalan besar...very hot hot place...near new world hotel...(new world hotel? hm...tink i m too young to know where tat is..hehehee) so we adjourned to Geylang, tinking....confirm geylang must have turtle soup, rite? die die must try...hehehe....

so dear dear call home and ask, Geylang where got turtle soup huh? His father says Lor 31 there have one....hm...we drove there..and its turtle house...hm...tat one i try before...not very nice lei...ask if got another one? then the mum called the auntie, and found another one at Lor 21 there...but but but...its closed!!! why close?? Geylang where got close so early one??? CMI CMI!!!

As its dear dear first time trying turtle soup, we din order the whole turtle, we just order a small portion for 2 of us to share...hehehehe...michiam like turtle tasting..hehehehe... I wanted to order turtle egg...but no more...sigh...guess its not realli the day for us :(

I guess my dear dear still ok with the turtle, cos he din realli see the whole turtle...hehehehe...next time, then we try the whole turtle, ok? *grin*

Since we cannot get the turtle soup at Lor 21, we shall go for its Hokkien mee...yum yum!!! the hokkien mee is so nice....wet wet type!! YUMMY!!! I almost lick dry the whole place....if dear dear din stop me, probably, i will eat the plate oso...ehhehehe

But by the time we finis the turtle soup and Hokkien mee...jialat lah....where still got space for tulang??? hm... so we gonna skip tat?? HOW CAN???? We gonna tabao home and eat later...*WAHAHAHAHAHHAHA*

So we went to tabao one packet of tulang with 6 big giantic Bones!!! hehehehehe....big big one!!! juicy juicy ones!! *WAHAHHAHAHA*

and I went to cold storage to buy loti and E-33 Cider!!! My dear dear never try cider before oso...hehehehhe...

You knoe wat, I have never been to any island around Singapore(those no need passport one), besides sentosa. Hehehe….

And my dear dear brought me to Pulau ubin for cycle =)

We took a bumboat at Changi for only $2 per pax? Cannot image Singapore can get boat ride for $2 anymore. *keke*
Realised we had the same sunglass? cool, right? *meowowowoww*

We rented bicycle, and there we go! Hehehe….we cycle for half an hour to some place, where they have some history of ubin….the weather is hot and humid(as usual – Singapore mah, wat do u expect? Snowing?)
its so sunny!!!

we went to a chi chai place...i tink its called "first stop restaurant"...simple place, but good food...hm...ya, its so good, that we forgot to take pics of the food, its gone before we could do anything. hehehhee...

26 Mar - Departure to Bangkok
Long time since I took AirAsia... Don't really like the older planes they use and the lack of seat numbers... People all like so kiasu... Plane haven come start to queue oredi... Luckily the scene is still peaceful... The other time I took AirAsia, it feels like a mini-riot.

27 Mar - Bangkok
We start off the day... Gym! Gym! Gym!... followed by a nice shower before venturing out to explore Bangkok... Hehehe... Lunch's at a nearby restaurant to Asia Hotel... then it's... Shop! Shop! Shop! at Platinnum Mall

We had dinner at some roadside stalls... Not easy if you dun speak thai, but it can be quite fun to do the food ordering by pointing at the ingredients and at the table next to us... Hahaa...

We continue shopping activities at MBK, then pop over to Suan Lum Night Bazaar (I heard they are closing the place). It's a warm night... Phew...

Ending the day, we had a much needed Foot Massage at a parlor outside Asia Hotel. =)

28 Mar - Bangkok
Breakfast!! We made it in time.. Heee.. Today's gonna be a continuation of the previous... Continue exploring Platinnum Mall... Back to Hotel... Then out to MBK again... Then Foot Massage at different parlor outside Asia Hotel...

Then... It's Salsa at La Reuda!! First time for me visiting a Salsa club outside of Singapore. Will it be like Union Square? Will it be all Thai? Will they play Thai-Latin songs?? Hehee... Well, it's fun!! Hehee... Should explore other Salsa clubs... =)

29 Mar - Bangkok
Soak in Chutuchak Weekend Market (Mo Chit Station - BTS)... Hot! Hot! Hot!
Hehehe... Time to get back to Hotel to refresh, and do a foot massage in Asia Hotel (Finally Meow Meow got what she wants)

It's Paragon @ Siam next, then Siam Center, then Loft! at Discovery Center, then Siam Square followed by Dinner at a woody Thai Restaurant at Siam Square (one block away from Hard Rock Cafe, not easy to find...

Bring me along!! I know the place... Hahaa... Food is good... Hehee...

30 Mar - Off to Hua Hin
Finding our way to Hua Hin.. Very adventurous!! I got the train tickets... Intending to ride our way there... Unfortunately, it was cancelled!! Went to refund, can get back only 50%... =(

So here's how we got there eventually... Taxi to South Bus Station.. Air-(non-con) bus to Hua Hin 3 hours... Reach dunno where the resort is... Scare kena cheated, sit in cafe to drink something first... Finally decide still gotta take a taxi (meow meow found one!!)...

So... stopover for the night is... (drum roll) Resort Dhevan Dara... Hehhee... Very nice... Big Big Big glass pavilion. Outdoor bath tub... Private swimming pool!!...

31 Mar - Still in Hua Hin

Went for quick gym session followed by Breakfast...

We got a sms! Flight delay... According to Meow Meow, this is normal for Air Asia... On time is strike ToTo.. Hehe.. Luckily we not rush for time. Good thing, they actually sms us to tell us flight delayed... So more time for spa... Hehehe....

So we try out the spa at Water Spa Village in the resort, aromatic massage... Hehehe... lifestyle hor? =)

Back to Singapore...

my kobi is learning fast! He is only in his 3rd lesson, and he can

- do his basic steps without a cripple, without jumping, as Jeremy said ( i tell u, its not easy)
- self turn confidently, without toppling
- lead the gal right and left turn, and
- my dear dear can catch the music!!!

Tips : He is very hardworking....listening to salsa music everyday in his car... (he is in his car for at least 1.5hrs everyday...hehehe...)

Its Jeremy bdae, and we went union last fri to give him a pleasant surprise :)

Its dear dear 2nd time there. I wasnt exactly in my perfect condition...*2 million months* nvr dance liao...and oso still running a slight fever and flu...

Peter asked me for a dance, and so dear dear chop my seat for me, so i can rest after my dance....
then this *** came to him and say, "hey! Its my seats...and he and his galfren took 2 seats...and when the gal went away, he split his buttocks into 2, and sat on both seats...

Stylo hor? *i wasnt mean enuf to take pic and post it here loh*

and sad to say, he is one of Jeremy's good fren...

I know he is a nice person as he oso jus wan to reserve seats for his dearest frens...but wat he did was jus unacceptable...and if he does this to reserve a seat for me or my frens...it will be so damn damn throw face man!!!!

Hope he knoe who he is..and will change, cos he will scare away alot of beginners in the scene.

But dear dear, no scare, whoever bully u, he sure will see colour man!!!!

Sent meow meow to T3 this morning and we had bfast at Coffee Bean... So exciting, dear dear is going to Macau!!! But... But... The excitement becomes a sense of loss when she went through the departure gate and go into the restricted area...

I am missing meow meow liao...

YAY! lets go Natas fair and see what good deals can we find!

dear dear is sick, so i suggested tat i shld drive instead, so meow meow drove from the west to the east to pick kobi.

then kobi directed directionless meow meow to Suntec(whr meow meow tot the natas fair is at....cos last year it was thr?hmmm...)... but but...how come the convention hall looks so empty? hmm... so sad, we tot natas fair is over...so since we r thr, we went to the miserable Career fair(aka education fair) there is nothing other nus, sim, bca, and all other universities...duno why call it career fair...

then kobi mama called, "where r u huh? we are at travel fair in singapore expo"

hmmm.....hmm......Singapore Expo oso have Travel fair? hmmmm....

then meow meow took out the newspapers and it reads

Hello everyone, we're just back from Port Dickson (or more known as PD)! Drove up in my trusty (at least for this trip) Ren MegHB with Meow Meow as the navigator (Woo Hoo... Meow Meow can read map!!)

Along the way
PD isn't exactly that far, just about 300km one way... Hehee... Cross 2nd link straight up the NS-Highway, quite straightforward la... So tempting to go faster than the 110kmh speed limit (Heh, is that a minimum speed or maximum speed??? Hahaha...)

Avilion Water Chalet
The resort room is built on stilts jutting out into the sea!! It's like several 'fingers' stretching out from the coast into the Straits of Melaka... Quite cool... Hehhee... At night can hear the wave sound also... Not fantastically a lot of activities to be had at the resort, but the Cochin pool is quite nice.. Quiet and warm water!! And it's Adults-Only!! Heh heh.... That only means no children la... Hehe...

Gym... Power failure, so end up working out in a "naturally ventilated" gym... Meaning to say, open all windows and hope the wind blows in... It has got quite a nice view actually, situated right at the end of the pier looking out into the sea...

We explored the sauna and steam room too... Hahaha... The men and ladies are separate sections... So we ended up shouting to each other over the partition.... Hehhee... Just in case any of us faint in the heat...

Food! Food! Food!
Wherever we stop, it's all about shopping and food... Hahaa... So fun hor... Eat Walk Eat Walk... =)
PD has some very nice nasi lemak... supposedly with salted fish... Hmm.... Meow meow tasted that, but I can't seem to find any shred of that... Hahaa... The rice is very fragrant.... Yum yum....

There's a pasar malam just about 15min walk from our resort, so we ventured there to find food... Hehee.. Meow meow actually wanted to find the chinese zhi tzar.... but but.... cannot find... But anyway, the place is full of food!! So no worries.... Dear, dun be disappointed hor...

Lunch Stop - Melaka
On our way back, we stop by Melaka... Just hit general direction without a map in tow... Hahaha.. Very daring hor? I think I prob drove the wrong way at some point in time, cos' the main road disappear and we ended driving thru some plantation area... Eeeks... Luckily my direction sense still not bad, can find our way back onto the Fed highway.... Phew...

We just have the chance to eat the famous chicken rice balls and gula melaka chendol, walk along Jln Tun Tan Cheng Lock and we headed back to the NS Highway... 5+pm oredi and another 2+ hrs to go.. Hehee... With daylight can see the signs better... just in case I drive wrong way and head up to KL... :p

Overall
It's a fun weekend driveaway!! Thanks to meow meow for finding the place and making the bookings... Nice resort, nice drive, nice company... Great for a short break... Hehee...

During our PD trip, dear dear asked if i am compromising any of my lifestyle for him...

hm...cannot lie, right? hmmm...hmmm....

I tink I dun dance as much as i wan or wish to..

I would love to go salsa, see my salsa frens more often...but m afraid tat he will feel bored...

of cos, learning salsa has always been in his agenda, and i am the one who ask him to choose a tue, as my frens normally go union on tue, so we can go thr after his class, maybe I can oso pick up belly dance? *grin*

and guess wat??? my dear dear got enrolled into the JJ Dance Studio, tue class, 7pm, starting from 18 March!

hehehehhee....

I told dear dear before I dun need someone who knoe how to dance...and it is still the same... So dear dear, if learning after the first 3 months, you dun reali like it, its ok one, ok? As long as I knoe the effort is there, tat is all tat matters :)

My dear dear says he wans to give me a surprise...gonna bring me somewhere...i nvr been before...The Cliff, Sentosa...its a beautiful place... very romantic...but but...pricey...the food is oso good! i would recommend the Oysters there, they have 7 flavours...i especially like the lemon one, very refreshing ;) OPPS! The oysters were so tasty tat we forgot to take pics :S

We only remember when the main course are served...this desert, duno wat name...that they say wil take 45 to an hour to prepare, so have to order first...and we ordered....maybe its their gimmick? so u hv to take tat even u r too full after ur main course? Smart hor?

CNY 2008

Ever since 1992, when my grandma passed away...my family stopped gg for visiting, all is my grandma's frens, so it became alittle meaningless.

For the past few years, CNY is the most most boring festival for me..everyone go visiting, i will stay at home... and the fact tat i dun enjoy tv programs made it worst...so sometimes, i will stay at home, sometimes, i will do a small getaway, thats provided i can find kakis :)

This CNY 2008 is quite fulfilling..

Preparation for reunion Dinner
Normally, on eve's eve, I will go the marketing(for reunion dinner) and cleanin up the whole flat(thou small, but still..) This year, my dear dear actuali plan it for me =)

a week before CNY, dear dear volunteer to clean up my flat..hm...maybe too messy, he cannot tahan? hehehe...so we spend one whole sunday afternoon cleaning up the flat, till dear dear sugar level went low, and his hands were shaky? hehehehe...

we went for marketing on day before eve(then went for wine gathering with classmates), we managed to get most of the stuff except electric beater...so the next day, dear dear offered to meet me for lunch and to get the electric beater(to make tiramisu)

Thanks dear dear for helping me in the cleaning and marketing, and making time for me *bliss*

Thanks Trudy for the receipe, its good, and its easy to make, even for a dummy like me, who doesnt knoe nothing about cakes at all...other than eating... hehehe...

CNY 1st day : Movie with Kobi's family
woke up at 11 plus...do some cleaning up of the mess leftover last nite from reunion dinner...and meet dear dear and family for movies...we went for 2 movies...and dinner at modestos

Ah long Pte Ltd - this is quite a low brainer show, but still i got to give it to Mark Lee, whenever he appear on the screen, I cannot stop luffing...hehehee..

He got 2 cute nieces!!! the younger one, 2 year old? cannot stop playing... hyperactive... hehehe... The elder one is 8 this year...sigh...most ppl means to pay more attn to the younger one... duno how she will feel hor?

Then we went for CHEESECAKE and coffee at Secret Receipt *Yum Yum*

CNY 3rd Day : Pot Luck and Wine at meow meow place

Thank god, newly appointed CEO of Wooncai and Miranda fell asleep, and therefore they are granted permission to join us :)

John, our game master 1, brought along with him some fantastic board games...now, u all knoe why we are stuck in the villa in phuket, playing board games? It can very very addictive...very...

Then come Bryan, the game master 2, who brought back all his games from China...

CNY 4th Day Part 1 : Gathering at Mr Francis Wong house

Mr Wong is my Sec School maths teacher. A group of us will gather and visit him every CNY. It always feels good to catch up with old frens...very old frens...frens we grow up together...we see how every year everyone is different...some years we have more ppl, more years we have lesser ppl...old ones dropped out, and new one will join in...

its time again to meet up with our mba classmates for some wine and catchups!

dear dear was thinking tat i shldnt go for it, as he wanted to help me do marketing and cleaning up before my reunion dinner tmr...but i insisted cos its always nice to catchup with frens, ya?

so we made a compromise, we gg to do some marketing, and then join the rest for wine at barcelona,md sultan...but we only make it there at say, 11? hehehee... so as usual, I kena suan jialat jialat, hehehe...

we got our truly frens all thr : Ernest, CK, SK, Joey and Tony

we had very interesting conversations (besides, kena suan for rubbertime:P)

So below is a snapshot of our conversation :

Ernest : Singapore gals no use one, wans gifts every significant day(ie, date of knowing each other lah, first date lah, anniversary lah, bdae lah, v-day lah, xmas lah...blar blar blar...)

Meow meow’s TOTS :

1. Honeymoon period
I have to agree tat there is always a honeymoon period, but also, it is up to the couple how they maintain the relationship. Sparks may not be everytime everywhere, it is like, if you see fireworks everyday, will it still be so beautiful and magnificent anymore? Maybe it will end up like noise?

It is a matter of how u keep the sparks gg…keep it simple, doing things together is one of the most effective ways; give little surprises, whisper little sweet nothings(only when u meant it, women are very sensitive creatures, they can sense if u r faking it:p)

2. Time for Gifts and Celebration
Everyone do knoe tat celebrations are invented by smart marketers to boost their sales....v-day may be invented as sales may be low for CNY festivals? Cos all shoppings are done in Jan already?

Be it whether it is a gimmick or some smart marketers inventions, it is still a good day, a good reason to show your affectionate for your love ones :)

However, you can always avoid being cheated by some outrageously priced menus by cooking at home? Having a nice picnic at East Coast Park/ West Coast Park / Pasir Ris Park / Esplanade / For Canning or even Sentosa? Going for a short getaway?

3. Sharing of Household chores and Cooking
I nvr mind cooking, and both of us love to cook and oso of cos, my dear dear dun mind helping out in the cleaning as well… its not a matter of who is cleaning it, its sharing the chores and doing it together… if u wan someone who does all the cooking and chores…hm…looking to maid huh?

4. Your money my money, my money my money
Hm…for this one, I tink traditionally, this has always been the case…I have to agree 70%, so it is a shared responsibility, but man will still have a heavier portion.

Let me put it this way : say when u have kids, its normally the women who sacrifices their job and look after the kids, and ultimately when a relationship dun work out, especially with kids, most of the time, it’s the woman who take care of the kids, also, it’s difficult to get another job or even find another partner…so money will come in handy when things like these happens…so there is always a rationale as to why things are in a certain way till now…

5. Ignore her tantrums
Ignore me huh? wat is the purpose lei? So that I will not be pampered? If gf is not for u to pamper then? hm...

So in conclusion, if you are looking for a someone to cook, clean, no need for you to pamper, and your money is still your money, hm...maybe…you can get a maid…more effective :p

14 Feb - Where does this day comes from actually?? Invented by some clever marketer to drive sales?? Hehee... No complains, cos' I'm a marketer myself... =)

Should I go against the evil commercialization trend? Should I protest against the rising rose price index?? Heh, it should be the STI going up!! Brrr...

But but, it's still a time where couples all round the world celebrate their love for each other... Ok ok... Some cultures may call it a different name and on a different date, but the idea is there lah...

So let's go with the fun spirit and enjoy... Find a nice dinner place (or maybe we can cook... we do enjoy cooking together), exchange surprises, listen to some nice music, have a drink or 2...

What got me scratching my head is what I should get for my dear dear... Hmm... Meow Meow seems to have everything she needs and wants...

Hee... Actually I bought Meow Meow's V-Day gift liao... Now more worried if she will like it... Secali not to her taste... How how??... *pray pray*... Hmm... Hehee...

9 more days to V-Day... Better look through my checklist again... Hehee... =)

Meow Meow celebrates my birthday - Kobi

Meow Meow went missing when we're shopping at SM MegaMall in Manila... Scare me... I thought where she went... Hmm... It turns out she's trying to make some special arrangement... Hehehe... It's a special birthday for me, spending it in The Philippines. Unfamiliar place to both of us, so getting a cake... Hmm... I thought it must be difficult.

Well, nothing's too difficult for my Meow Meow... Hehee... =)

We went for buffet dinner, Pinoy-style... at Gloriatta Malls... then we adjourn to a nice cafe, Bizu, over at GreenBelt Malls... (Heh, Philippines is full of shopping malls!!)

I had a birthday cake!! And Meow Meow has the cafe got it ready with candle and song... Hehee... All pre-arranged!! Thanks, dear!

And here's my birthday gift from Meow Meow... Hehee... It's a nice classy watch... Very beautiful right? Hehee... :p Fits my classy style right?? *wink wink*

Thank god, i had some philippino frens tat helped me to get some info, as to where got nice food and nice nice cake...hehehee

I tried getting them to deliver it to the hotel...but...but but...cmi cmi lah, they duno wat i m toking abt ()*&^%$#@$%^&*(

The recept at Malayan Plaza Hotel were so helpful! They went the extra mile to help me book the restaurant and the candles for the cake.*grin*

and guess wat!!! guess guess!!!! fast guess!!!! I got Kobi a watch too!!! hehehehhee....Hope my kobi likes it too ya? hehehehe...

hehee...my turn to give feedback hor? have so much to write! Gosh!

been with my dear dear for 6 weeks? hm...wat shld i say lei...i say liao, i scare u all jealous, how? hehee..

1. A man who is willing to try anything
It is not in my wishlist that i need a man who dance, but if he is willing to share the same passion as me, isnt it perfect? I m not talking about just salsa... He went for jazz class, contemporary class as well. We are gg to explore yoga too!

2. A man who is willing to go shopping with me, with no complaints.
I was reading thru xiaxue blog and she is saying things like, Mike doesnt like shopping, and she is whining as to why men dun like to shop, blar blar, blar..

Gals, u knoe how much i shop. heehehe..*almost like crazy* and my dear says he loves to shop too! *YAY* hehehee

3. A man who spends time with me
Both of us are very busy with work, yet we spend alot of time together. Even if he has to do a conf call at nite, we will go for some light dinner and he will do his call at my place, or if he has a evening conf call, he will come and meet me after tat. We can jus spend the whole toking about anyting, and thru these, we understand alot abt each other, how we feel, how we see certain things..whr are we coming from...

4. A man who is able to appreciate me, and wouldnt mind my weaknesses
Everyone have their weaknesses. I have mine too. I love to pack TOO many activities at one goal, which i know i am not able to accomplish all of them. Initially, i tink dear dear very kan cheong, she wan to do so many things huh? then he keep looking at his watch...enuf time meh? jialat man. hehehee...but i guess this man is slowly starting to understand me... i try to do many things, but I may not be able to do it all, but at least i try..and some of them are actuali not impt ones, got time can do lah, no time, then another day loh. hehehe

from the fact tat i love to pack many things together, i hv the tendency to be late loh... but my dear dear is always waiting for me patiently. hehehe...no complaints at all :)

5. A man who can cook lei, heehee...

6. A man who is happie to help out in cleaning
Dun assume its normal for all guys hor...some guys jus sit there like a log...u knoe lah huh? hehehhee...

Of cos, most most importantly, he loves me, he dotes me, and he cares and concerned about me

Back from Philippines...

We're back in Singapore... Somehow, holidays are never long enough... and how true to say that time flies when you're having fun!!

See... On the pic to the right, we look so young... Hehehe... Wonders Wonders... Maybe the air and sun and sea and sand in Philippines is rejuvenating?? Hee...
